Favourite Photo Tag
June 19, 2009 at 9:19 pm | In Uncategorized | 2 CommentsI was tagged earlier this week by Little Diva…

It’s really simple. I love how every photo tells a story. Some short stories, some long tales. I want to know what is your favourite photo of yourself. Everyone has one. The photo they look at and smile. It reminds them of something, some time, some place. A moment in time.
So share the photo, share the story and then tag three other people. I want to see photos and stories all around the blogosphere.
It’s quite rare to find a photo of me, I’m usually the one behind the camera. There are a few around of Alexandra and I, very seldom wiill you find one of me alone. I’ve been trawling through my folders trying to find one, however I appear to be wearing sunglasses. In every.single.photo. So, I went back further, to my wedding images.
I love this photo because I look so young, and so glam! I very seldom glam up these days. It was such a beautiful day, with family and friends, so very special. We married in my home town of Auckland, you can see the Sky Tower in the background.
My turn to tag a few…

I just received an email from the gorgeous Steph at Bondville, letting me know that she had featured TikiBoo Kids today.
Bondville features all sorts of wonderful hip products, droolworthy designs and stylish kids, so it was an honour to be featured with such great company.
Thank you Steph!
Finally…a winner

I must confess to completely forgetting about the draw – I had the urge to sew…and when it strikes I need to take advantage of it before it departs, and becomes a chore! So…drumroll…the winner is…
Jo, with Bella! Congratulations. If there is any chance you could send me a photo of the room, that would be very helpful.
For those that missed out this time, never fear, there will be more giveaways very soon…

Challenge 3 at Blog This: It’s the little things…Simple, everyday things which make your life a pleasure.
Limit of 10 images…no minimum. You don’t have to be a fabulous photographer, just have fun.
No words required, let your photos tell the story…
I played around with actions on some of them, they needed a bit of spicing up!
Oh…and for those who are waiting, I’m a bit late with the draw, I promise to post the winner tomorrow!
Let’s have another giveaway!
June 5, 2009 at 4:16 pm | In Uncategorized | 33 CommentsTags: australia, children, competition, giveaway, prize, sewing
A quick little giveaway! I’m creating a new product and I need to make a prototype for photographing. It’s a personalised product – so I’m going to be a little bit fussy, sorry! Entries are open only to those with a child whose name is 5 letters or less! I know, I’m horrible, but I’m the one who has to make it. AND I’m not going to tell you what it is either.
So, to enter, please leave a comment telling me: 1. Your child’s name and 2. The colour of their room. Entries will close 8pm Sunday, Brisbane time.
Easy! If you aren’t a mummy, or your child’s name is too long you can enter your friend’s child, your niece or nephew…this would make a fantastic gift.
So, what do you think?

I’ve added a new banner – what do you think? Love it? Hate it? Does it look funny on your screen? Please let me know! I’ll be changing the navigation bar, errr, sometime.
The winner of the jeans makeover – sorry – winners, were announced over at La Toriana earlier this week. We have been in contact with Monique, however Justine, where are you?! Would love to hear from you.
A new challenge is being announced tomorrow over at Blog This. It’s a photography challenge this time…so if you’re an Aussie blogger who happens to have a camera, you should join in the fun! If that’s not your cup of tea, but you like shopping, or more importantly, giveaways and sales, we’re listing them over at Mama Loves to Shop. It’s all happening!
Making life easier
June 2, 2009 at 5:15 pm | In Uncategorized | 2 CommentsChallenge 2 at Blog This…
If I were to invent something to make life easier or more fun for me…and WHY.
Right about now, a single tablet to cure colds and flu would come in handy! I seem to spend most of winter coughing and sneezing, so would certainly love an instant fix to this problem – wouldn’t we all! Doctors would spend all winter twiddling their thumbs, and pharmacists might start going out of business. For that matter, how would the media cope without the chance of a pandemic to scare us with? What else…A sewing machine that does the sewing for you, another handy invention around here…although I do like the sewing, it’s the cutting out which is tedious.
Some thing else which would make my life so much easier would be a robot PA. Turn on the switch and it would make all my phone calls, update my websites and blogs…tidy my desk and make me endless cups of coffee. Oh yes, that’s what I need!
If you’re an Aussie blogger and want to join in the fun, head on over to Blog This and sign up.
Get an Eiffel of these!
May 29, 2009 at 1:56 pm | In Uncategorized | 3 CommentsTags: competition, eiffel tower, embelished jeans, la toriana, tikiboo kids, win
Sorry, that’s really corny isn’t it?! I couldn’t resist.
Since visiting Paris, Miss TikiBoo is completely facinated with the Eiffel Tower. I was looking through my stash the other day and pulled out this fabulous pink fabric – immediately pounced apon by small child. Mummy! It’s the Eiffel Tower! I was suiable inspired to whip out the scissors and create something, here’s the result. Teamed with the ever-so-groovy zebra stripe, these embelished jeans are certainly going to make a statement!
If you haven’t entered the draw to win a chance to have your own child’s jeans revamped, head on over to La Toriana. All you need to do is leave a comment on the blog post. Entries close TOMORROW, so be quick!
When I grow up…
May 27, 2009 at 9:43 pm | In Uncategorized | 1 CommentTags: blog, blog challenge, fashion design, stock broker, wall street
No, I’m not channelling The Pussycat Dolls, it’s a challenge for a new blogging network I’ve joined, Blogged. (The name is about to change…watch this space!). The theme for this week is When I grow up…A ballerina? A vet? An astronaut? As a small child, what did you dream of becoming?
I’m sure as a small child I wanted to be all those things and more. The one I most vividly recollect was wanting to be a stockbroker. I wanted to work on Wall Street, live in New York and drive a Porsche 911 Carerra. The Targa type. Oh yes, I had all all planned out there for a few years. Buy! Sell! Buy! Sell!
Shame I was such a shy kid – not to mention hopeless with numbers. (This was years before the movie Wall Street, for the record, so no inspiration there!). I still have never been to New York, it’s still on the Must Visit list.
When I finally realised it wasn’t a particularly practical career option, I really had no idea, for many years. Really, no idea. When school finished and I still had NO idea, I jobbed around for several years – Pharmacy assistant, Governess, Nanny, Medical Receptionist, Optical Dispenser. In the mid 90’s, the IT industry was booming, and as luck would have it, I scored a position as a receptionist. From day one they realised I wasn’t the type to be stuck answering phones and I steadily worked my way up through a few different companies to a good position in IT marketing. Officially, I’m a Product Manager.
But I prefer “Children’s Fashion Designer”. That’s what I put on forms when they ask Occupation.
You see, somewhere along the way, not long after my daughter was born, a passion for children’s clothing emerged. My mum shared that passion and vision, and TikiBoo Kids was created. Me. A fashion designer. Wow. Now I think I’m finally grown up.
