Today Miss TikiBoo had her very first trip to the movies, with Mummy, Aunty Jennifer & Lachlan. We went to see the Pixar movie, Wall-E. It was a cute movie, but the attention span was only ok for the first hour – and we didn’t take enough healthy snacks so there was a sugar overload for a little girl who would only sit still while eating!
A first movie required a special dress, this is one of our favourites, and with the sunny warm weather it was the perfect occasion for a debut.
It is made from Olivia The Pig coordinates and is the same Cha-Cha style as the others we have listed on All You Need. For a change we managed to get some photos looking at the camera – shame about the dingy location though!
By the way, TikiBoo Kids is now on etsy, although with etsy being in $US I’d recommend you still buy from All You Need!
Please visit the etsy store and heart us though!
One last thing – Aussie Boutique Kids Blog is now back on regular posting schedule, so please visit, comment and spread the word about handmade love…
TikiBoo Minky Madness

Minky, minky, minky! I just adore Minky…it’s so soft. Back in the old TikiBoo AIO nappy making days, minky’s were my absolute favourite. However, now that we’re no longer making nappies, what on eart were we going to do with all the minky?!
These are the most wonderful little baby toy. Babies adore the softness, and playing with the tags (which actually increases their fine motor skills, but don’t let that put you off, the cuteness factor wins at the end of the day).
These must be kept far, far away from the hands of Miss TikiBoo as she would claim them all as MINE, she is quite partial to their softness as well.
So, if you’re looking for the perfect gift for a baby shower, or to welcome a new baby, now you’ve found it! They have just been added to the toy section of All You Need.

A few weeks ago we had a photoshoot for TikiBoo Kids, what a great morning it was! The kids were fantatsic little models and just adorable. The location was perfect, my friend Megan’s new house with it’s beautiful yard. the photos were taken by my talented friends Megan & Bianca. A big Thank You to all involved, especially Hugh, Oscar, Jazzy, Lily, Alexandra, Sophie & Jasper.
I have started uploading them to flickr, there are some there now, more to come. It’s also a bit of a sneak preview as not all the designs have been added to the store yet!
You can access the album in the lower right of the blog and see some of the designs in the All You Need store.
Speaking of new items, we have about 5 new skirt designs just waiting for me to photograph, hopefully I can get that done this weekend.
To market, to market

We’ve been busy little bees, preparing for our first market later in the month. We’ve decided to have an All You Need table at The Handmade Expo in Ipswich on Saturday 20th September. If you’re a South East Queensland local, you should come along, there were some beautiful things at the last one. It is held every month at the showgrounds. You can visit The Handmade Expo blog for more information. Make sure you come and visit us if you do, look for All You Need, and you’ll be able to see the beautiful new dresses and skirts we’ve been making! There are only a few up so far, the rest should be finished and online later this week.
The latest fabrics

Today I collected not one but TWO boxes of cottony goodness! Cloe’s Imagination by Tina Givens featured heavily, along with some fun kiddy prints, Heather Ross’ Mendocino (mermaids and seahorses – Alexandra is going to just love those ones!) and my favourite, this Paris street scene print. I forgot I’d ordered the first lot and managed to end up with 6 metres!
What do you think I could make with it? Suggestions please!
The dangers of twirly skirts!

Who would’ve thought a humble skirt could be a hazard!?
That is, if you tell your two-and-a-half year old that it is a TWIRL skirt and she takes that to mean she must twirl…and twirl…and twirl until she either falls over or bumps into something. Although it’s nothing new, she gets a new bumb or scratch every single day. Thank goodness for band aids and pawpaw salve!
Speaking of pawpaw salve, I’ve been looking for another brand, one without petroleum jelly,

and discovered that Emma from Brindabella Baby stocks Simmons PawPaw Salve along with some gorgeous nappies, baby carriers and cute t-shirts!
Check out these adorable koala shoes, a certain little girl is currently in love with “Ko-lala bears”…they might be on the christmas list!
