A quick little giveaway! I’m creating a new product and I need to make a prototype for photographing. It’s a personalised product – so I’m going to be a little bit fussy, sorry! Entries are open only to those with a child whose name is 5 letters or less! I know, I’m horrible, but I’m the one who has to make it. AND I’m not going to tell you what it is either.
So, to enter, please leave a comment telling me: 1. Your child’s name and 2. The colour of their room. Entries will close 8pm Sunday, Brisbane time.
Easy! If you aren’t a mummy, or your child’s name is too long you can enter your friend’s child, your niece or nephew…this would make a fantastic gift.

I have finally managed to get a few little winter dresses and a skirt online at All You Need. We have a big trip coming up, so they are VERY limited edition and will only be available until April 1st. AND…we will only be offering one custom made in each design. Yes. ONE. So, if you really want to have something unique this winter, head on over and have a look.
Here are a few of the images from our fashion shoot which did not make it onto the website – these two are the bestest of friends and have such fun together!
I’ll tell you more about our upcoming trip later. In the meantime, check us out on KidStyleFile, where you will find the secret code to redeem your special gift with purchase.

For those wondering why I haven’t been in contact much over the past couple of weeks, we had a very special day today, Alexandra’s Christening. Everything was wonderful, she was even happy to have water poured over her head! Unfortunately Mum and I spent most of the day in the kitchen, as usual.
Alexandra looked “like a pwincess ballerina” in her dress, made of course by Grandma. It’s all silk, including the organza, and the bodice is hand smocked with tiny pearls stitched by hand. She did a wonderful job! Here are a couple of photos.
Don’t forget our special offer running on KidStyleFile, there is a special birthday code entitling you to a storewide discount and a special birthday gift with every TikiBoo Kids clothing purchase.

My blogs have once again been neglected, we have been so busy – sewing, designing and reorganising my workspace with some handy shelving and cupboards courtesy of ikea.
It was my birthday on Sunday, I received a wonderful, wonderful gift of a new camera – Nikon D300 and a 24-70mm lens. I’m still trying to get the hang of it as it’s about 3 times heavier than the old D50 with a nifty-fifty. So far most of my photos have some camera shake blur. Photography opportunities will be rare in our hot Brisbane weather, the sun is too strong between about 9am and 3pm but I shall find a way!
Coming up next week is another birthday – All You Need will be celebrating our first birthday. To be in on the celebrations make sure you have signed up to the newsletter on the website.
Here is a sneak preview of one of the sweet summer TikiBoo Kids dresses I will be adding to All You Need as part of the birthday bash – it’s the perfect party dress! What do you think?

Today Miss TikiBoo had her very first trip to the movies, with Mummy, Aunty Jennifer & Lachlan. We went to see the Pixar movie, Wall-E. It was a cute movie, but the attention span was only ok for the first hour – and we didn’t take enough healthy snacks so there was a sugar overload for a little girl who would only sit still while eating!
A first movie required a special dress, this is one of our favourites, and with the sunny warm weather it was the perfect occasion for a debut.
It is made from Olivia The Pig coordinates and is the same Cha-Cha style as the others we have listed on All You Need. For a change we managed to get some photos looking at the camera – shame about the dingy location though!
By the way, TikiBoo Kids is now on etsy, although with etsy being in $US I’d recommend you still buy from All You Need!
Please visit the etsy store and heart us though!
One last thing – Aussie Boutique Kids Blog is now back on regular posting schedule, so please visit, comment and spread the word about handmade love…

Minky, minky, minky! I just adore Minky…it’s so soft. Back in the old TikiBoo AIO nappy making days, minky’s were my absolute favourite. However, now that we’re no longer making nappies, what on eart were we going to do with all the minky?!
These are the most wonderful little baby toy. Babies adore the softness, and playing with the tags (which actually increases their fine motor skills, but don’t let that put you off, the cuteness factor wins at the end of the day).
These must be kept far, far away from the hands of Miss TikiBoo as she would claim them all as MINE, she is quite partial to their softness as well.
So, if you’re looking for the perfect gift for a baby shower, or to welcome a new baby, now you’ve found it! They have just been added to the toy section of All You Need.

A few weeks ago we had a photoshoot for TikiBoo Kids, what a great morning it was! The kids were fantatsic little models and just adorable. The location was perfect, my friend Megan’s new house with it’s beautiful yard. the photos were taken by my talented friends Megan & Bianca. A big Thank You to all involved, especially Hugh, Oscar, Jazzy, Lily, Alexandra, Sophie & Jasper.
I have started uploading them to flickr, there are some there now, more to come. It’s also a bit of a sneak preview as not all the designs have been added to the store yet!
You can access the album in the lower right of the blog and see some of the designs in the All You Need store.
Speaking of new items, we have about 5 new skirt designs just waiting for me to photograph, hopefully I can get that done this weekend.

Sandi Henderson’s Ginger Blossom is one of my favourite lines of fabric. Particularly this waterlily print, I adore the colours and the coordinates. When mine arrived several weeks ago, I was itching to get straight into it, and also to try out a skirt tutorial I found on Tanya Whelan’s blog.
However, the tutorial didn’t allow for overlocking and I, um, well, sort of mucked it up a little bit. From the outside it looks fine, however some of the inside seams are not upto my perfecting standards (the standards which drive my long suffering mother to distraction and ensure that the unpicker gets a good workout!). This one is around a size 5/6 so far too big for Miss TikiBoo, so will be finding a home with a gorgeous girl in Sydney who has just turned five-and-a-half. She hasn’t seen it yet so I do hope she likes it!
Moral of the tale is to not attempt new patterns on good fabric, test it on something cheap to start with!
We won’t be adding these skirts to All You Need, however we will have some gorgeous designs featuring Sandi Henderson fabric, but you’ll have to wait a few weeks until we have had our photoshoot!
